Heavenly forced to postpone opening day due to high winds

For those in the South Lake Tahoe area who have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Heavenly, sadly, you will have to wait at least another day until you can shred at the resort.

Due to the high winds affecting the area brought about with the incoming winter storm, Heavenly was unable to open the gondola today, and thus decided to hold off opening for at least for another day.

The silver lining to this situation is that tomorrow’s probable opening day experience likely will consist of that light, fluffy stuff that usually only appears in our skiing dreams. I’m talking about powder of course!

Reports are calling for at least a foot of the white stuff to fall before tomorrow. Keep working that snow dance folks. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
