The Austrian Ski Team is, for the fifth consecutive year in a row, taking advantage of the great conditions at the beautiful Sun Peaks Ski Resort in British Columbia for training. The men got there on Tuesday and are training on the OSV Run on Tod Mountain, (OSV stands for Österreichischer Skiverband, or Austrian Ski Federation). They’ll leave on Monday, while the women will stay there for the remainder of next week.

Some of the members of the team who qualify for the Olympics will go back to Sun Peaks right before the Games start in February.

Here’s what General Manager of Sun Peaks Resort Corporation, Darcy Alexander said: “It’s a big year for them and for us, with the 2010 Olympics in February.” Added Walter Gradwohl, Downhill and Super G coach for the Men’s team: “Our goal is to get one medal in each discipline. And the Canadian team is strong, too.”
