Sun Valley gets Olympians to initiate new Roundhouse Gondola

Sun Valley was the place to be today as nine Olympians were some of the first to ride the new super cool gondola on Bald Mountain at their opening day celebration. 

Reuniting at the top terminal were Betty Bell, 1952 U.S. Olympic Ski Team, Dates Fryberger, 1964 U.S. Olympic Hockey  Team, Reggie Crist, 1992 U.S. Olympic Ski Team, Sondra Van Ert, 1998 U.S. Olympic Ski Team, Tyler Palmer, 1972 U.S. Olympic Ski Team, Muffy Davis, two-time overall World Cup Paralympian , 2001-02, Jon Engen, 1956 U.S. Olympic Ski  Team (Nordic), Maria Maricich, 1984 U.S. Olympic Ski Team and Terry Palmer, 1972 U.S. Olympic Ski Team.
Sun Valley will begin its 74th ski season Thanksgiving Day.

Spectators gawked at the beauty, elegance and clean lines of the new Roundhouse Gondola which holds 8 bodies comfortably and provides Sun Valley ski resort skiers and riders complete access to all of Bald Mountain.  The masterpiece of technology was designed and built by Doppelmayr and gets skiers and snowboarders all the way to the top in only eight minutes where in addition to some of the best skiing in the world, the Roundhouse Restaurant is waiting for them.
