Earlier this month in Zurich, Switzerland, the International Ski Federation (FIS) approved some small changes to the World Cup calendar for the remainder of the season. You can see the final schedule on their website, www.fis-ski.com, under each individual discipline.

The FIS also decided that the Nations Team Event at the Alpine World Cup Finals will be in the form of a parallel giant slalom. The finals will be held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen Germany in March of 2010. Additionally, they approved a Nordic Combined team event on the normal hill to the program of the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo, Norway in 2011.

Finally, they approved the opening ceremony and big air events to kick off the Snowboard World Championships in Spain in 2011.
