Officer Ally Jacobs, who has been lauded as one of the people responsible for ending the 18-year captivity of South Lake Tahoe girl Jaycee Lee Dugard, returned to a familiar place on Monday to talk about how she cracked the case.  Speaking at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, Jacobs, who is a police officer at UC Berkeley, said “after interviewing him, I just got this weird feeling, and I followed up on it.”

The aforementioned “him” is alleged kidnapper Phillip Garrido, who went to the campus with his two daughters to try and pass out religious literature.  Jacobs saw him and thought he was a “little off” so she brought him in to talk.  Her advice to kids at her alma mater was to “just listen to your voice.  It’s always right, it’s there for a reason.”
