Park Wars: Copper Mt to open 22′ superpipe tomorrow, first in country again

Well it appears the folks over at Copper Mountain have seen Keystone readying to open A51 Park tomorrow, and will raise them a 22′ superpipe in retaliation tomorrow. As the Summit County terrain park wars rage on, the real winners (us skiers and boarders) couldn’t be any happier.

Copper’s amazing snow-making combined with the generous storms thus far in the season, will allow them to once again become the first resort in the country with a superpipe ready to shred.

Why the frenzied pace to open a super pipe you might ask? Copper’s pipe will play host to the US Snowboarding Team for training sessions. The US Snowboard Team will have exclusive use of the pipe from 8:30-10:00 a.m. on weekends and 9-11 a.m. mid-week leading up to the first USSA Grand Prix happening at Copper, Dec. 10-12.
