If you’re looking to learn the skills of a master ski racer, or simply improve your ski racing techniques, then New York’s Hunter Mountain is where you need to be this season.

If you’ve never raced before, but know what you’re doing on skis, attend the Adult Race Camp on December 14-17, or the workshops on January 7-8 and February 7-8. Both training camps include video analysis, food and lift tickets. They’ll teach you to feel comfortable flying through gates on the giant slalom and slalom courses. The December course costs $399 with a four-day lift ticket, or $299 without them. The January and February workshops cost $159 for one day, and $299 for two days (season pass holders get 30% off those rates).

For more info on the December course, visit  www.huntermtn.com/huntermtn/the-learning-center/camps-and-workshops.aspx. For more info on the later workshops, visit www.huntermtn.com/huntermtn/the-learning-center/camps-and-workshops.aspx.

Now, if you’ve done some racing in the past, you may want to attend Hunter’s weekend workshops. They have training areas used specifically for racing development, and you have to be an advanced skier to attend. The program meets from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-2:30 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, with a one-hour lunch time break in between. The program begins on Dec. 12, 2009 and ends on Mar. 14, 2010 and costs $649. Registration ends on Dec. 31, 2009.
