Stratton Mountain pulls off genius rail jam

Diane Lovell, the Events and Activities Manager at Stratton Mountain Resort had the Village Rail Jam to pull off.  Unfortunately Mother Nature hasn’t gifted ski resort with fluffy white goodness yet.

“We had to do this at all costs,” Lovell said. “We were lucky to have a solid backup plan and extremely thankful to have natural snow at the last minute.” That backup plan was to take ice shavings from a nearby skating rink in Manchester and truck them in to be used around the rail. Then, on Friday Night, the real white stuff came, enough to cover an already established base and create a snowy experience for all.  And Voila!!!  The perfect rail jam in beautiful Stratton village.

“It’s amazing to see,” noted participant Matthew Knault. “There’s plenty of speed and the rail will yield some pretty good tricks.”
