First snowboard World Cup Olympic qualifier postponed

It appears that the lovely Ms. Mother Nature has decided not to smile upon our friends in Limone Piemonte, Italy. Due to the lack of snow over there, the Alpine Snowboard World Cup event planned for December 6th must be postponed. This was to be the first snowboard World Cup event that would also be an Olympic qualifier. There will be four more.

U.S. Snowboarding Director Jeremy Forster acknowledged that the FIS should make a decision regarding rescheduling shortly: “This is obviously a very important event for our U.S. riders.”

Let’s hope (selfishly) that it’s rescheduled to coincide with the World Cup PGS in Telluride on December 17th. If not though, I suppose Austria or Switzerland can have it too in early January.
