Ski and shred day good for broke college kids

On Friday, December 18th, the Solitude ski area and the University of Utah are getting together for the annual Ski and Shred Red Day. Every year at the end of the fall semester, broke college students (along with staff and faculty) can ski and snowboard for huge discounts–namely $33 lift tickets for the day, and a $6 lunch special at the Last Chance Mining Camp.  Just need show your Shred Red ticket to get a burger or dog, fries and a drink.

The tradition every year is that all skiers and riders wear red, the school’s color, thusly naming the event “shred red day”. Pick up your tickets at the Outdoor Recreation Program (2140 E. Red Butte Road, Fort Douglas, Building 650), The Olpin Union front desk, The Field House, 214 HPER East and the University of Utah Hospital gift shop.
