Superstar Lindsey Vonn is back on track!  After a shaky start to the season in Aspen, Vonn has taken her rightful place at the top of the podium, winning the Lake Louise downhill today.

At the first speed event of the World Cup season, Vonn bested the field by a dominating half a second.  Emily Brydon from Canada finished second, and Vonn gal-pal, Maria Riesch finished third.  Another podium party for Vonn and Riesch! A huge day for Lindsey Vonn, her first win of the season and her first win on her new Head skis

It’s Vonn’s 23rd World Cup victory and 13th in downhill, as the two-time defending overall champ builds upon her record of more World Cup wins than any other American woman racer ever.

Julia Mancuso came in at an impressive 1:27:78, putting her at 10th. Stacey Cook 1:28:33 (23rd), Chelsea Marshall 1:28:41 (26th) and Keely Kelleher 1:28:67 (30th) all finished in the points with top 30 results

Young Alice McKennis impressed, as the Glenwood Springs (CO) notched an 18th place finish.  Lake Louise was just her second World Cup start.
