As we reported earlier in the week, U.S. Ski Team athlete TJ Lanning suffered a non-displaced fractured vertebra in his neck and a dislocated left knee when he crashed during the opening downhill of the Alpine World Cup in Lake Louise last weekend.

The reports are out now that he has had a successful surgery on his neck and he’s doing just fine.

Two of his vertebra were fused and the fracture was stabilized.

“The surgery is typical with injuries such as this and designed to create stability, allowing the fracture to heal more safely,” said team medical director Richard Quincy. “It went very well.”
