California Powder Alert: Big storms for So-Cal, Mammoth & Tahoe

El Nino’s groove is about to kick in.  Early season is just that.  Early.  Now it’s time for the real benefactors of “the Christ Child” to step up and claim their divinely given gifts of the Snow Gods.

I’ve been glued to the McCoy Station webcam all morning.  It’s about to go from nothing to dumping in the blink of an eye.  NOAA is predicting two+ feet of snow to fall on Lake Tahoe area resorts, two+ feet for Mammoth Mountain, and another two+ feet for So-Cal ski resorts (Snow Summit, Mt. Baldy, Waterman, Mountain High).

This is a very cold storm by Cali standards.  Snow levels will be in the 2000 foot range.  Even after this storm clears, there’s another one right behind it.  If you named your kid Snow, his head will be turning often this next week.
