Three California media companies, The Sacramento Bee, KCRA-TV, and the San Francisco Chronicle all filed suit in relation to parole records in the kidnaping case of South Lake Tahoe girl Jaycee Lee Dugard.  The suit is against the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the California Inspector General’s Office, as they are trying to get alleged kidnapper Phillip Garrido’s information released.

The exact documents are records on how parole agents supervised Garrido between 1999 and this past August.  Garrido and his wife, Nancy, are charged with kidnapping and holding Dugard in captivity for 18 y ears.  A Corrections spokesman said that the agency could not release the records because of privacy laws and because the Dugard investigation is still going on.
