Meribel Freestyle World Cup cancelled

The FIS announced that the upcoming Freestyle World Cup men’s and women’s mogul competitions in Méribel, France have been cancelled. Originally set for December 16, there’s just not enough snow to create a regulation moguls course. The weather in the area has also been too warm to make artificial snow.

The freestyle bumpers are currently in Finland, where they will ski their first World Cup on Friday. Olympic silver medalist Shannon Bahrke, World Champion Pat Deneen and others will be on hand to start their push for an Olympic berth at the 2010 Games in Vancouver.
