Defending World Cup champion Dario Cologna was on his home course in Davos, Switzerland today in the men’s cross-country skiing World Cup sprint, but after a thigh muscle injury, the Swiss skier only managed an 11th place finish.  The winner was Norway’s John Kristian Dahl, who beat fellow Norwegian Petter Northug by .1 second, with another .1 second separating Northug from third-place finisher Alexei Petukhov from Russia.  The women’s winner was Petra Majdic of Slovenia, who got her first victory of the season and her 15th career victory.  Kikkan Randall of the U.S. finished seventh for her best result of the season.
