One of the worlds greatest ski jumpers, Finlands Janne Ahonen has been hospitalized in his home country after fighting a high fever for over a week.  Ahonen is so sick he can hardly move and his temperature has been hovering over 102 degrees. He was tested for swine flu and those results came back negative.  However, there have been a large number of false negatives with the swine flu test.

Ahonen has won the World Cup 5 times and has silver medals from Salt Lake and Torino.  This past week he missed the ski jumping event in Lillehammer, Norway.  No news about when he will return, but it is unlikely that he will make the Engleberg, Switzerland competition on December 18th.
