Another day has passed and still rescue workers have not been able to locate two missing climbers on Mt. Hood.  Katie Nolan of Southeast Portland and Anthony Vietti of Longview (WA) are still missing after a fourth day of unsuccessful searches.

Tonight officials work tirelessly to interpret the evidence they’ve been given.

In his latest posting, Allan Brettman of The Oregonian noted a “confusing clue.”  A glove and a water bottle found near Luke Gullberg’s body were not his.  Clackamus County sheriff’s Deputy Scott Meyers said investigators believe the items belong to Katie Nolan.

On Monday, winds were calmer than expected allowing for a 90 minute military helicopter search.

Two feet of snow is forecasted for the region tonight with temps in the teens and wind gusts of 60 mph.  Steve Rollins of Portland Mountain Rescue said the search would continue on Tuesday.
