Manny Pacquiao should train in Big Bear to beat Mayweather

The Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight anticipated for March 13 will most likely be the biggest in boxing history. With both camps agreeing to a 50-50 split of the money, this should truly be a battle for pride and victory. Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao should take a page out of Oscar De La Hoya’s book and train in Big Bear to get an edge on “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather.

It’s a well known fact that training at high altitude enhances an athletes performance. The ski resort town of Big Bear is at an elevation of 6,752 feet and has served as a training camp for Oscar De La Hoya. Pacquiao has trained at Baguio City, a popular mountain resort in the Philippines which is at an altitude of 5,100 feet. This should be nothing new for the Pac-Man, the best pound for pound boxer in the world, just a different venue. While at Big Bear, Pacquiao could chop firewood and run sprints in the deep snow. Remember Rocky in Siberia in Rocky IV? Might as well go skiing or snowboarding at Big Bear Mountain Resorts to help get his legs under him.

Or perhaps it should be Floyd Mayweather instead who should be training in Big Bear to preserve his undefeated record of 40-0. After all, Mayweather just recently came out of a 21 month retirement.
