Thanks to Mother Nature throwing down a couple feet of fresh goodness, Brundage Mountain Resort in McCall, Idaho is set to open this Friday for a great season of skiing and snowboarding. All 1500 acres and all five chairlifts should be open. The base is at about 33 inches at the 6,000 foot level right ow, and about 40 inches at the summit (7,640 feet). More snow is expected to fall later today into tonight.

Here are some comments from resort spokeswoman April Russell: “This last storm system brought us nearly two feet of snow in just two days. We already had a good base, and with this quantity of fresh snow, we’ll be able to enjoy the entire mountain on opening day. We are really excited to be able to put our seasonal employees to work and our local economy is really in need of the boost that ski season brings. What’s most important to us is to be open for the Winter Holiday. Children are out of school, families have time off to spend together and we’re thrilled they’ll be able to make new memories with us this holiday at Brundage Mountain.”
