Jon Olsson announces first three teams for the 2010 Jon Olsson Super Session

Last year Jon Olsson hosted the second annual installment of the Jon Olsson Super Session (JOSS) in what would go on to be one of the most memorable ski events of the year.

Highlights from the event included the continued dominance of

Team Norway (PK Hunder and Andreas Hatveit) and the dropping of the “My Friend is a Pro” music video. It will be interesting to see what is in store for the 2010 JOSS, and if the magical event came top itself once again.

JOSS isn’t just a normal ski contest. It’s a two week party and all out extravaganza for the elite skiers of the industry. Every skier dreams of scoring the invite.

On that note, Jon – fresh off his first ever Nor-Am GS win – has just released the skiers who will comprise the first three teams of Norway, Sweden, and Europe.

Excerpts from Jon Olsson’s blog:

Norway

Pretty super simple, when you have the two top guys in the same country who also won last year its pretty easy!

Andreas Håtveit
PK Hunder
+Rookie (A video contest will take place at Friflyt.no where skiers can send in a video, the best one will join the team and travel to JOSS.)

Sweden

I thought long and hard about this, in the end I decided to give room for the young Swedish skiers and put myself on a different side of the event. I will still be skiing just as hard and compete in JOI.

But this gives me more time to be a host and create a more unique angle on my movie segment to give you a different view on JOSS. When I made this decision it was super tough for me, but the more I have thought about it, the better I feel about it, have so many ideas on how to create a very entertaining segment!

Henrik Harlaut
Oscar Scherlin
+Rookie (A video contest will take place at Freeride.se where skiers can send in a video, the best one will join the team and travel to JOSS.)

Europe

This is the hardest team to put together as there is so many good skiers out there, in the end I decided that i should not be the one to judge who is better then the other. So I thought that letting this falls Big Air events decided who should go would be a more fair system. I am glad to see who came out on top on this. I think Elias and Jacob will create a great team!

A pretty interesting list!

Jacob Wester
