For the last five years, Utility Board Shops has partnered with southern California’s Mountain High ski area to put on the Battle of the Boards, a fun series of snowboard competitions for pre-teens and teenagers. The 5th Annual Battle of the Boards is happening this Saturday! “We are thrilled to be able to do this event every year,” said Utility Board Shop co-owner Kevin Sanchez. “We love seeing this kids come out and do amazing things with their boards. They are truly fearless!”

Winners claim booty in the form of gear from Burton, Volcom, Neff, Dakine, 32 Boots and Skull Candy.

“The progression of the sport of snowboarding will always be one of the most important factors driving Burton snowboards. One perfect way to promote this value is to throw a good old fashion snowboard contest,” says Brad Fisher, an account executive for Burton Snowboards. “We are stoked to be partnering with Utility Board Shop to push the southern California snowboard scene to new levels.”

“32 Boots, Etnies, and Neff wanted to be a part of this event and partner with Utility Board Shop and Mountain High to put the fun back into snowboarding,” said Carter Katz, who represents those lines. “The kids are the future of snowboarding. Kids can come from all over to show their talent and creativeness to win tons of gear from the best brands.”

The competition will be divided by gender and age (13 and under/13 and over). Registration opens Saturday morning at 7, and the competition gets underway at 8!
