Colorado and Utah the first to get a white Christmas

As we reported yesterday, a major winter storm is set to hit the middle of the country on Christmas. The newest weather reports pin Colorado and southern Utah to be hit first. By midday on Christmas, parts of Colorado and Utah should see at least a foot of snow. Throughout the day and then into the weekend, the storm will move east a bit and slam the plains. “Pretty much the entire central and southern Rockies are going to get snow, and then it’s going east and will drop more snow,” said Stan Rose, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Pueblo, Colorado.

For as happy as these snow reports make us…for obvious reasons…it is also very important to remember travel safety while the white stuff comes down. This coming storm will bring great skiing, but it will also bring hazardous travel conditions, so please folks, be cautious out there and get to your families safely.
