It’s official: Jeret Speedy Peterson and Lacy Schnoor–both Park City, UT residents–won the U.S. Olympic Trials for freestyle aerials and have earned their spots on the U.S. Olympic Team.

It will be the third Olympics for Peterson, and he plans to unleash his quint-twisting “Hurricane” jump in Vancouver. He was a bit more conservative at the Trials, but landed two clean quadruple-twisting jumps to finish with 258.21 points. 2009 World Champion Ryan St. Onge fell on his second jump and finished third.

On the women’s side, top Americans Emily Cook and Jana Lindsey both fell on their first jumps, which left the door wide open. Schnoor handily qualified for her first Olympic team with a score of 177.83.

Fellow U.S. Freestyle Ski Team athletes Hannah Kearney and Pat Deneen claimed their Olympic spots on Wednesday in the moguls event.
