Vail opens up to the gay and lesbian market

Vail has tries several times to start a gay ski week, but has not been as successful as Aspen or Telluride in sustaining the effort. Last year, Vail skipped the gay ski week altogether. This year, however, the resort is once again taking aim at the gay and lesbian skiing community and hosting a gay ski week, one week after Aspen holds it’s 33rd annual gay ski week. Telluride hosts it’s 7th annual gay ski week in February.

Vail will work closely with the business community in organizing special events and deals for the week, as well as special lift pass pricing and ski school deals. The mountain is working in tandem with gay and lesbian clubs both locally and in the Denver area to build a connection with the community. It should prove to be a great week for the attendee’s and Vail, who hope to see the week continue every year and grow in popularity.
