Many feared Lindsey Vonn’s injury yesterday would hurt her Olympic chances. Considering she was strong enough to race the slalom in Lienz, Austria today, it seems we call breathe a sigh of relief.

In today’s slalom, she finished 18th, which clearly isn’t what she hoped for. She was wearing a brace on her injured arm and we’re happy she was able to race at all.

Austrian Marlies Schild took the top spot on the podium, followed by French racer Sandrine Aubert. Austrian Kathrin Zettel was third.

This was Schild’s first World Cup victory since breaking her leg last season.
