Over the last few years, significant strides have been made in the world of adaptive skiing. Skiers and snowboarders with physical disabilities once only dreamed of participating in winter action sports—but one day, the world of skiing and snowboarding proved that it truly is all-inclusive. A perfect embodiment of this lies in the Belleayre Ski Resort in Highmount, New York.

Belleayre will be showcasing its Adaptive Program this Sunday, January 10th from 8AM to 4PM in the new Adaptive Center. The Center was built via a grant from Senator John Bonacic, and it contains the latest and highest quality equipment for adaptive skiers and snowboarders. With Belleayre’s program, athletes at the beginning, intermediate, or advanced levels will be offered lessons to either learn the fundamentals or fine tune their skills.

If you think adaptive skiing may be for you or a loved one, we encourage you to do more research on it–and if you’re in the Highmount area of New York state, head to Belleayre this weekend for their adaptive showcase. If you’re not familiar with the world of adaptive skiing and snowboarding, we’re sure it will blow you away.
