Elvis is dead, again: Tahoe’s Mt. Rose kills off annual Elvis Day

Elvis is dead… again.  Mt. Rose in Lake Tahoe has canned it’s annual Elvis Day.  For 10 years, Elvis has carried the day, or more specifically, this Saturday in January.  Not this year.  The peanut butter chuggin’ man has been replaced by a bigger, more relevant star?

Nope.  Elvis is dead and in his place is a community appreciation day.  That’s right, this Saturday at Mt. Rose, it’s community appreciation day!  If you’re part of the community, prepare yourself to be appreciated with a snow-building contest and dual slalom race.
