Cliff hucking ski goddess and all around SuperBabe of Snow Lynsey Dyer is not simply a cliff hucking ski goddess and all around SuperBabe of Snow. She’s also quite the philanthropist. Lynsey, fellow skiers Vanessa Pierce and Claire Smallwood started a non-profit organization called SheJumps which supports and encourages women to be involved more in outdoor activities, namely skiing.

On January 21st, Lynsey and the girls are hosting a FUNdraising night of avalanche awareness at the University of Utah’s Alumni House. The night will feature a presentation by long time avalanche forecaster Evelyn Lees,  slideshows of women skiing in the backcountry, prizes and giveaways, plus a silent auction to benefit SheJumps and Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center.

Lynsey was quoted as saying: “The purpose of the evening is to bring the community together and introduce more women to the wonders of backcountry touring while giving experienced tourers more knowledge. As a professional skier, I understand the enormity of the mountains and the constant need for knowledge and keeping myself and friends alive.”

All the money raised will benefit future SheJumps events, such as SheJumps into the Canyon–a four week camp at Alta Ski Area in March that will teach kids from the Boys & Girls Club how to ski.

Admission to the FUNdraiser is 10 bucks, and doors open at 6PM.
