Salt Lake City rail jam is first of its kind

Today, for the first time in its history, Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah will be hosting a rail jam for its students. To participate, the students had to qualify by submitting a video of their skills to Galvanic Designs (a co-sponsor of the event along with the Associated Students of Westminster College) that highlighted their skills and proved their abilities were top notch.

Prizes will be awarded to the best men and women—they’ll be judged by a panel of guest judges from around the area judging based on how well they hit the rail and the quality of their tricks. The rail jam will be held at Westminster’s residential green in Salt Lake.

“We wanted to host this first-ever Rail Jam to capitalize on our students’ ski and snowboard skills,” explained Alyson Vander Steen, ASWC activities coordinator. “We have some amazing talent at Westminster and our students really don’t get to showcase it very often.”
