Shaun White has earned the first of the highly coveted US Olympic Snowboard Men’s Halfpipe spots for the upcoming Winter Olympics to be held in Vancouver next month.

White earned this honor by winning his second Grand Prix title of the season today at Mammoth Mountain. After earning the highest score of the day with a 47 in his first run, White was yet again able to stoke the crowd by partaking in a victory lap on his final run.

White’s winning run included a massive backside straight air (required for each competitor) into his textbook back-to-back double corks followed by a 540 ‘sky hook’ and finishing off with a backside 540. Pretty impressive stuff.
