Nate Holland and Lindsey Jacobellis won the the World Cup snowboard cross races today in Bad Gastein, Austria, improving their chances of making the U.S. Olympic team.

This is Lindsey’s first win this season, and her 20th overall. She beat out Norway’s Helene Olafsen for the victory. “I’m stoked. I definitely needed that. I’ve been in kind of a little slump lately, and this felt great,” Jacobellis said. “It takes off a lot of the pressure that this has happened. It supports my confidence and helps me go into the next one.”

This win brought Lindsey to second place in the overall rankings, 830 points behind Canada’s Maelle Ricker, who finished seventh today.

Nate Holland’s win today marks his third World Cup victory and first of this season. He came in ahead of France’s Pierre Vaultier. Austrian Mario Fuchs was third. In the overall standings for men, Nate is now in third place, behind Canada’s Robert Fagan and Pierre Vaultier.

The U.S. Olympic team will be named at the end of the month, and both Nate and Lindsey now have strong chances of being on that list.
