The sun was shining this January 5th for the Women’s Halfpipe Final at the 2010 O’neill Evolution tour in Davos. The victory was taken by Swiss rider Ursina Haller followed by the youngest rider of the women Cilka Sadar.

This tour marks the first time in three years that the women have competed in the O’Neill Evolution. This marks an important stop on the Swatch TTR World Tour as well as a leap for women’s snowboarding.

Women’s snowboarding has been moving up the ranks over the past few years, especially in half pipe competition. Rider’s are pushing the stakes with inverts and spins that have rarely been noted in women’s snowboarding.

In third place, we see another Swiss rider, Manuela Laura Pesko, walking away with $4000 in cash. Manuela finished first in the qualifier but finished out the competition with a smooth run to put her in third. Manuela and the girls described the competition as relaxing and friendly. When it comes to girl’s snowboarding the fun element is a high priority. The sunny sky and ease of riders made for the perfect atmosphere to push the boundaries of women’s half pipe snowboarding. The girls are all out there together to push each other and cheer one another on!

After a great competition the halfpipe opened to the men for another battle of the best.
