Another Olympic dream crushed by injury

Right on the heels of Lara Gut, rising Australian mogul skier Ramone Keeper will most likely miss this year’s Olympic Games after tearing up his knee yesterday due to a broken ski binding.

Ramone, 21, has been making supreme progress this year after working with Olympic gold medalist Dale Begg-Smith. The member of the Australian Vancouver Olympic team finished ninth in the first World Cup event of the season in Finland last month, showing he really does have what it takes to shine.

During a training run in Deer Valley, Utah yesterday, his knee just blew after his binding blew too. A torn ACL hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s likely. If that’s the case, he’s out of Olympic contention for sure. But, at 21, he (like Lara Gut) is young and will hopefully be back at it for the next round of Olympic Games.
