Gatorade Free Flow Tour heads to Tyrol Basin in the midwest

Mt Horeb, WI, January 15, 2010— The Gatorade Free Flow Tour is coming to Tyrol Basin January 16-17, 2010.  Kicking-off its inaugural winter season, the winter leg of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour will hold contests across the country throughout the month of January at 10 U.S. resorts. Tyrol Basin is the only Midwest stop on this tour.  Other resorts across the nation are in Pennsylvania, Colorado, California, Vermont, Utah and New Hampshire.

The Gatorade Free Flow Tour is an amateur series, open to snowboarders and freeskiers 21 and under, that holds contests across the country including a total of 30 slopestyle (snowboard and freeski) competitions and 21 half pipe contests.  The winner in each of the 51 contests will go to the finals, in conjunction with the Dew Tour’s Toyota Championship, Feb. 5-7 in Vermont.  The two overall snowboard superpipe and slopestyle champions and the overall freeski superpipe and slopestyle champions earn a spot to compete against the pros at the first stop of the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour the following season.

Tyrol Basin Ski and Snowboard Area opened in 1958 reflecting the European influence of the Mount Horeb area. Six lifts serve 16 runs, with numerous terrain features on 40 acres of a 300 foot vertical hill.
