Larry Platt gets another chance to sing Pants on the Ground to America

If you haven’t seen Larry Platt’s American Idol audition, singing “Pants on the Ground”, then you’re missing out on one of the biggest viral hits of 2010 (yea OK, it’s still January). But still, “Pants on the Ground” has almost made Larry Platt a household name. He got to perform it again today on “The View”.

We like the song because in our world, he’s speaking to all those newschool skiers who shred with their pants below their butt. Not that we have a problem with that, per say, but how can they do that? I mean physically, how do you ski slopestyle and do insane things on the pipe with your pants worn that low? Isn’t it uncomfortable? Our man Zeke saw some of that this past weekend in Mammoth, and we were talking about it this morning. This song is meant for those skiers!

On “The View” today, Platt revealed the inspiration behind his song: “I was walking one day, and [I saw] a guy with a baby bottle in his mouth, and he had his pants on the ground. And that’s what gave me the inspiration.” Platt’s newphew Jason, in the audience, said “he is finally getting his word out that he’s wanted to for all these years.”

Here’s the clip from American Idol last week if you missed it.
