Second strong earthquake hits Haiti

As if the awful scene in Haiti couldn’t get any worse, a second strong earthquake has hit today about 75 miles northwest of the capital Port-Au-Prince. This one had a magnitude of about 6.1, so not as bad as the 7.3 one last week.

Still, rubble was knocked off buildings and more panic infected the streets.

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced the U.S. is sending more aid to Haiti, in the form of ships carrying essential supplies. Make sure to tune into George Clooney’s telethon for Haiti this Friday. It’s on HBO, MTV, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, VH1 and CMT.

Our thoughts go out to all those affected by the natural disaster in Haiti.
