George Clooney’s Hope for Haiti telethon so far raised $58 million

And that figure is still growing. The telethon can be purchased on iTunes in video form for $1.99 or in album form for $7.99. It is now the #1 album on iTunes in 18 countries.

Last Friday, this telethon was hosted by George Clooney and Haitian musician Wyclef Jean. The $58 million figure sets a record for the most money a telethon has ever raised. Some of the featured inspirational musical acts included Wyclef, Taylor Swift, Mary J. Blige, Madonna, Jay-Z, John Legend, Bono and Sting.
