Winter X Games 14 slopestyle course preview with TJ Schiller and Sammy Carlson

The Winter X Games has long been one of the most important and high-profile ski events of the season. Freestyle skiing events such as slopestyle and superpipe earn valuable television time each Winter X Games that has turned athletes such as Simon Dumont into household names. However, in recent years there has been some not-so-silent whispering amongst athletes about the quality of the Winter X Games competition arenas, namely the slopestyle venues.

It seems that ESPN and master terrain park builders Snowpark Technologies (SPT) have taken notice, as their courses are ready and dialed for the upcoming events which kick off January 28th.

The slopestyle course looks drastically different from year’s past, as not only are the jumps bigger (a long-time athlete request) but they are also outnumbered by rail and jib features.

To give you an idea of the course, as well as some athlete reaction to the new changes this year, take a look at this video from TJ Schiller. It certainly seems like TJ and Sammy Carlson (aka Pasty-C) overwhelmingly approve of the set-up.
