Daron Rahlves X Games injury update

Downhill-skiing legend-turned freestyler Daron Rahlves suffered a terrible crash Sunday during the X Games ski cross, and thought he dislocated his right hip. Turns out, the U.S. Olympic Team member was right.

Apparently, it was the fourth hip dislocation for Rahlves, which bodes well for his performance at the upcoming Olympic Games in Vancouver. According to the Aspen, CO doctor who evaluated Rahlves, when someone suffers from several dislocations, the surrounding tissues become so loose that when the joint pops out, it causes little damage. Another plus? The Olympic ski cross event doesn’t take place until February 21, which gives Rahlves a bit of extra time to heal.

Rahlves was released from the hospital after his hip was popped back into joint.
