The room was packed with fans and admirers.  There were famous athletes everywhere.  Blood was trickling out of the ears of all as the music was cranked to eleven.  It was the Powder Video Awards and Reader Poll with big high fives from Verizon Wireless and Samsung that set Aspen ablaze.  Set up during the X-Games which was the bomb this year, the Powder Awards nailed it like Foghat in 1972 at the Dayton Arena.

Lynsey Dyer who stars in The Ski Channel’s uber cool documentary, Riding Sun took the honors for “Best Female” for her performance in Stormshow Studios’ Magic Moments.  “Wow, this is awesome!” said the beautiful huckmaster Dyer. “I finally got one of these!  Cheers to all you girls who rip.”  The founder of shejumps.org recieved only 19 marriage proposals on the evening which was light for her.

Sean Petitt who was proclaimed by Tanner Hall to be the best skier in the world at the awards, took the honors for “Best Male” and “Full Throttle” for his performance in “In Deep” by Matchstick.

The readers poll decided to pick its favorite male and female athletes and for an unprecidented 4th year in a row as Seth Morrison and Ingrid Backstrom took the number one male and female top spots.  Ingrid likely got a few marriage proposals as well.

Fresh off of a broken back, the 85 years young Warren Miller made the trek to Aspen to recieve his “lifetime Achievement Award.”  In his normal perfect delivery, Warren said “Make a lot of turns and enjoy every moment of it…just don’t cross your tips!

MSP took the “Movie of the Year Award” with their masterpiece “In Deep.”  It was MSP’s fifth time to win the coveted award.

The awards were sponsored by Verizon Wireless, Samsung, Aspen Ski Company, General Snus and Red Bull.
