Ski legend Mike ‘The Godfather’ Douglas gives us a five minute history of freeskiing

Mike Douglas has been responsible for the rise of freestyle skiing as much any other person around. Always one to push the envelope, he helped launch the creation of the Salomon 1080 twin-tip ski, which pretty much laid the ground work for everything from the 180 to the switch double cork 1440. Even this year, Mike along with Cody Townsend experimented with the first attempted tow-in big-wave skiing while vacationing in Maui.

So when the “Godfather” of freestyle skiing wants to teach you a history lesson about the sport he helped create, it’s paramount that you sit down and listen – with note taking optional.

Check out this latest episode of the Salomon Freeski TV which gives skiers some validation that we were the O.G. of action sports. Thank you Norway!
