Both Puckett and Rahlves ready for the Olympics

We already knew the guys were tough. Daron Rahlves and Casey Puckett–the U.S. contingent for Olympic ski cross–are both all-systems-go for the Vancouver Games in spite of recent injuries. Rahlves dislocated a hip and Puckett re-injured a shoulder he’d recently separated. Whatever, injuries be damned. All they have to do is get down the hill in front–right?

Both athletes are seasoned stars and Olympians–having previously competed as U.S. Ski Team alpine skiers. According to a statement from USSA president Bill Marolt, the two athletes are “…ready to go.”

It will be the Olympic debut for ski cross, and in spite of Canada’s recent stellar results (the Canuck men just swept the X Games ski cross comp) both Rahlves and Puckett are podium regulars, and know what to do to bring home the gold.

The Olympic ski cross event takes place Feb. 21 at Cypress Mountain in Vancouver.
