20100204 weather Blizzard warnings in effect for the Northeast and Mid Atlantic this weekend

As we reported earlier, the eastern part of the U.S. is going to join in the fun and see some significant amounts of snow this weekend and ski areas are smiling down on Mother Nature.  In fact, it appears that there may even be “near-blizzard conditions” starting on Friday in Washington D.C. and Baltimore, while there will be a full-on blizzard in New Jersey and Delaware.  A winter storm warning will be in effect for the nation’s capital and the surrounding area’s starting Friday at 10:00 a.m., while the blizzard warning for the Northeast takes effect on Friday at 4:00 p.m.  The blizzard could pound up to two feet of snow in New Jersey, while Baltimore and Washington D.C. could both reach over a foot of the white stuff.
