At least eight dead after avalanche hits ski resorts in Iran

Sad news to report. At least seven men and one woman are dead today after an avalanche struck between two ski resorts near Tehran, Iran. 49 people were rescued by emergency crews (including three foreigners–nationalities not specified in the report).

The avalanche happened on a road between the ski resorts of Shemshak and Dizzine which are about an hour’s drive north of Tehran. There had been several days of heavy snowfall in the region before this slide.
