Austria makes 1-2 with Druml and Kreiner
EISENERZ (AUT), 6 February 2010 – Home town hero Tomaz Druml (AUT) won the FIS Nordic Combined Continental Cup event in Eisenerz today. Runner up became his team-mate Benjamin Kreiner, Truls Soenstehagen Johansen (NOR) got third place.
After the ski jumping portion, Petr Kutal (CZE) was in leading position with an advantage of 26 seconds on Johannes Weiss (AUT) and 28 seconds against Sebastian Reuschel (GER). Druml was in fifth spot.
With the sixth fastest time, Druml skied to victory. Benjamin Kreiner came in second (19 seconds back), Truls Soenstehagen Johansen got third place. Fastest on the track was, once more, Frenchman Florian Pinel (23:26.1) who finished 22nd overall after his poor jumping attempt (51st place).

“I just want to perform like I did in January”, said Druml. “doing so, the results will follow. I am leading in the overall COC but I do not have particular expectations. I just want top remain free of injuries the whole winter.”

The Continental Cup will go on with a second competition in Eisenerz tomorrow.
