Lindsey Vonn receives advice on Olympic success from Picabo Street

This morning on NBC’s “Today” show, Picabo Street (1994 silver medalist for downhill and 1998 gold medalist for Super-G) offered some words of wisdom for Lindsey Vonn. Although Lindsey is one of the best athletes we know at focusing and avoiding distractions of media and hype, she’s gotta be just a touch nervous right now. She must be feeling some pressure…we like to think she’s a bit human right?

Picabo’s advice? Lindsey should “relax and have fun” while “[looking] for speed” on the downhill course. The weather delays have built up the tension in all the alpine skiers, though for Lindsey, the delays have been a welcome relief for her bruised shin.

Today, Lindsey will begin the first of five races in these Olympic Games. We can’t wait.
