Shaun White wins the snowboard gold at the Olympics

Talk about someone flat out changing the game, Shaun White arguably the great rider ever on a snowboard pulled off his new Double McTwist 1260 in the Olympic Games today to win the gold medal.  Thus ending one of the most integrated marketing kudo’s in the history of business.

For those of you living under a rock, White and Red Bull built a private, hidden half pipe in the Silverton area especially for Shaun to develop and execute the McTwist 1260 along with the rest of his routine.  And routine it was… The kid was Rembrandt on a canvas.  So they come up with a cool idea, get the great one to jump in, they build it, he practises there and then he wins the gold medal.  Red Bull might be the best marketers going these days.

To push the craziness even further, White had the deal in bag after his first run and then pulled the howitzer out of his bag.  Pretty soon we are going to stop calling him the Michael Jordan of the sport and we are going to start calling Michael Jordan the Shaun White of his sport.

Another gold medal for the US and the dream team of Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White came through!
