Vail goes bonkers for hometown Vonn

One of the closest ties of any resort and athlete has got to be Vail and Lindsey Vonn.  So you can there is celebrating all over the town tonight as Lindsey nailed the performance of a lifetime today and grabbed the gold medal in the downhill.   A ski resort community steeped in ski racing tradition, Vail is celebrating both Vonn’s gold medal run as well as teammate Julia Mancuso’s silver medal finish in the Women’s Downhill event tonight with a festive outdoor street party and viewing of NBC’s prime time race coverage on a jumbotron screen.
