Due to injuries, and the tragic death of Georgian luger Nodar Kumarishtavili, the International Luge Federation plans on completely and totally reviewing all sliding events at the Olympics. By the end of March, they will share with the public how they “determine how best to move forward”.

The luge federation and Olympic officials received a lot of heat when they originally implied Nodar’s death was mainly his own fault. “I exclude the possibility that Nodar was not experienced enough,” Georgian committee chief Giorgi Natsvlishlili said in the Journal, which cited TV reports. “From my point of view the track was at fault.”
